National Museum The Memorial In Commemoration Of Famines Victims is an absolutely amazing and poignant memorial to the Holodomor ( man made famine ).Between 1932 - 1933 with the help of the brutal Soviet regime and with the permission of Joseph Stalin over 10 million Ukrainian's were more or less starved to death ,a tragedy to this nation ,a shame on the authorities of the Soviet Union at the time of this man made famine. The monument looks superb, its eye catching, the statue of the emaciated girl in front of the monument is very poignant ,the monument is easy to locate on Eternal Glory Park on Lavrska Vul.Most definitely well worth checking out if your in this park

Most of the museum is written only in Ukrainian/Russian but wait for the cycle of movies projected to come around to the English language movies to get full understanding of the horror this museum is dedicated to.When I visited there is a great deal of construction going on around the museum, which may imply it’s closed. But don’t be put off. Head down the stairs and there is a door there to enter the museum.
