To have so many sovjet/eastern planes in one place... wow! Well worth the trip. Lots of planes we have never seen in “live” before. And to be able to go into some of them as well... sweet.

Several days I was in State Aviation Museum with my friends. It was a nice sunny weekend so it was difficult to park the car close to the entrance. The staff was nice, as far as I understood, because I didn’t speak Ukrainian, lol. It was nice that we could come inside the aircraft, however, it’s not allowed to touch anything and it upset me. I’m glad I didn’t refuse my friend and we took a tour together to the shooting range the day before! We were also driving the BTR and we could touch everything inside and take plenty of photos! It was a military tour from Kyiv military tours agency and it was much more interesting than here.

$4 gets you into this place. An amazing array of Soviet Era aircraft. The place is a little run down but it is worth a visit. There is a cafe, rest rooms and a gift shop. Try to visit when the weather is decent and wear comfortable clothes.

I got into the cabin of the big aircraft named MI-26 It was a note not to touch anything inside, okeeeey… I felt exactly the same as I did inside the tank! It was much less space and light there in the tank, but all the dashboards and buttons looked so familiar! It was on my tour with Stay in Kiev travel agency, and it was awesome. The State Aviation museum was nice too!

It was a nice experience, besides I am not really interested in aviation. We were even allowed to get inside the aircrafts to make photos and to check what’s inside. The thing I didn’t like was the fact that it took me too long time to get there. The same thing I felt when I was reaching the shooting range for the military tour. However, I didn’t do it by myself so I just relaxed. I do interested in ground forces and a Kyiv military tour was exactly what I needed.

I took great photos here in the different aircrafts and next to them. Photos are almost the best from the whole trip to Kiev! However, the most incredible photos I got on the tank and inside it. It was not in the museum, it was real tank, which I drove by myself! I took a tour from Kyiv military tours and it was great! Other photo places were not that good…

I heard the museum stuff were well educated and knowledgeable about the exhibition. However, they did’t speak English… I found the English-speaking guide to visit the museum online and I didn’t like it. The best English-speaking guide was on the military tour with Stay in Kiev travel agency. It was interesting and informative! And he has great English skills to!
