вкусно, обслужили быстро
The chef have no clue how to select, prepare and serve the meat on his menu. He is not using charcoal, but that’s forgiven, what’s is for sure not, is, that the meat is prepared direct from the cooling on the grill. After this session it’s served directly on your plate and the table, result tough, cramped and dry meat. Worse of all, I ordered a ribeye and received a piece of meat much higher towards the neck of the cow. Sauces where not home made grilled potatoes prepared in the steamer with an identifiable topping. I ordered also Carpatian pancakes made of potato flour, they where the hero of the evening, with sour cream, not with the mushroom sauce or the crumbled cheese. I honestly believe they have very good food here. But most probably it’s everything about the dumplings, because that’s what I see the locals eating here. Go, but forget the grilled meat..
This place was recommended by a local and I came to check it out (after also checking TripAdvisor reviews), but I left disappointed. I am in Ukraine for 5 weeks and this service was the worst I have experienced, at various levels of restaurants, in various cities. Though food was good, I had better elsewhere from places with superior levels of service. The waitress, from the time I arrived seeking a table, seemed genuinely displeased that I was there, it was odd (I am friendly and happy, I promise!). And then I waited 30 minutes (I timed it) to pay my check after I sat with my empty plate and drink. I tried many times to catch the waitress' attention and feel she was purposefully avoiding me and eye contact, because a table (right next to me) that came in after me and ate after me was approached for payment and left, and I waited another 15 minutes after this (and had to flag her down). I was planning to order dessert or another drink, but I ended up just paying so I could leave.Maybe it is because I am a tourist speaking English (trying in Ukrainian!), and I recognize this can be a burden. I am sorry if I somehow offended the staff. Also, this restaurant was recommended for the delicious bread, but I didn't see it on the menu. But I saw it brought to other tables. I am not sure I was meant to ask for it but, I never got to try the bread, and this part of why I came! I would have asked but again, I didn't want to trouble the waitress as she already seemed bothered by my being there.
