Fuji is a famous volcano on the Japanese island of Honshu. The Japanese revere it no less than other national symbols - blooming sakura or the rising sun, imprinted on the flag of the country. It was in 1934 and at first the company was called “Fuji PhotoFilm Co”. In Japan, cinema was becoming increasingly popular at that time, so film shortages were widespread. Fujifilm turned to German specialists and by the end of the 30s started production of high-quality black and white film. And in the 40s there was already a film for color printing. After the Second World War, the company decides to start production of photo equipment. The prototype was the best German technology, so Fujica cameras and Fujinon lenses appeared. Also, in addition to photographic equipment, the company became known for its materials for photo printing and photocopying.
