Service description
Bondarivna is a modern look at Ukrainian history. Ritual actions, folk melodies in an unusual interpretation, a mix of choreographic and musical styles - all this to tell the viewer about the unchanging questions - love, passion, power and permissiveness. The authors offer a fundamentally new format of a folklore performance, in which tradition is combined with the present day.
The idea of turning to a folk ballad belongs to the choreographer and director, Honored Artist of Ukraine Alexander Nesterov, who has several successful ballet productions to his credit, in particular Winter's Tale and Seasons of Life, presented on the stage of the National Opera. The plot of the play Bondarivna turned out to be close to the composer Anastasia Komlikova, whose work already included the opera Loneliness?! and the two-act ballet Forward, written for EURO 2012. Created in close collaboration between the choreographer and composer, Bondarivna will be presented at the Kyiv Opera for the 120th anniversary of P. Virsky's birth as a joint creative project of the UAFE Kalina and the Serge Lifar Kyiv Musical Theatre.
