Colonoscopy before 2:00 PM:

It is advisable to follow a diet 2-3 days before the examination: broth, boiled or steamed meat (including fish, poultry fillet); hard cottage cheese; white bread crackers; homemade cookies (without fruit additives and nuts), rice, non-carbonated drinks without dyes, jelly.
The day before the scheduled procedure (regardless of when it was scheduled) you absolutely must not fast. You must follow a diet: only clear broths, jelly, clear juices and regular still water until 3 p.m.
After the specified time, eating is prohibited. For dinner, you can drink colorless jelly or herbal tea. It is prohibited to take activated carbon and iron-containing drugs. If the study is conducted with anesthesia, it is prohibited to take any food or water on the day of the study (this does not apply to taking drugs to cleanse the intestines). If the study is conducted without anesthesia, you can drink still water 4 hours before the study.

Bowel preparation:

The drug Fortrans (if body weight is less than 60 kg, then 3 sachets, if more than 60 kg - 4 sachets). Two-stage scheme (split preparation):

• From 18:00 to 19:00, dissolve the contents of 1 packet of Fortrans in 1 liter of purified water at room temperature and drink gradually over the course of an hour (1 packet/1 liter/1 hour).
• From 19:00 to 20:00 1 package/1 liter/1 hour.
• From 20:00 to 21:00 1 package/1 liter/1 hour.
• On the day of examination from 05:00 to 06:00 1 packet/1 liter/1 hour.

OR

The drug Eziklin. Two-stage scheme (split preparation):

• From 18:00 to 19:00 dilute the contents of the first bottle of Esiklin to the 500 ml mark with regular drinking water, drink the contents of the bottle and then drink another 1 liter of regular drinking water.
• On the day of the examination – from 05:00 to 06:00 dilute the contents of the second bottle of “Esiklin” to the 500 ml mark with regular drinking water, drink the contents of the bottle and drink another 1 liter of regular drinking water.
• If the procedure lasts eight hours, the second dose is taken at 4-5 am.

The occurrence of nausea or vomiting is not a reason to stop taking the drug. Regardless of the drug used to prepare for the colonoscopy, it is recommended to take an additional 3 doses of simethicone.
