Entrance ticket to festivals in the historical and cultural center «Ancient Kiev»

The festival brings together the best equestrian stuntmen of Ukraine. They often and successfully represent our country at international competitions and participate in world show programs.

Participants will demonstrate amazing tricks: riding upside down, backwards, on two horses at once, they will slide under the horse, build «pyramids». And all this at full gallop! Arabesques, cliffs, pistols and French crosses - this is an incomplete list of dizzying tricks that can be seen at the «Centaurs festival.

The best fighters of Ukraine will enter the battlefield and conduct full-contact battles in knightly armor with medieval weapons! The co-organizer of the competition is the All-Ukrainian Federation of Medieval Combat.

The best athletes will compete for two days in a row, finding out who is the strongest and most agile in strong battles. Simply by organizing a weekend getaway, you can be transported to a unique place where different historical eras converge. A warrior in heavy chain mail from the 11th century crosses a sword with a Western European knight in full 16th century robes. A weekend getaway in the countryside turns into an exciting adventure that will give you an unprecedented adrenaline rush.

During the festival, it will be possible to travel back in time to the era of the Cossack prince - Svyatoslav and the majestic Kievan Rus, at the time when the glory of our state was born, the fighting spirit of the heroes - the defenders of our lands and our country - was formed and tempered.
Ancient Kiev invites all guests to take part in the solemn procession to the Vasilievskaya Church, which was built by Vladimir the Great after the introduction of Christianity.

The entertainment program will continue with theatrical performances, performances by actors of the equestrian stunt theater and folk groups. Guests will see incendiary prancing on horses, as well as a unique and exciting action - the princely hunt, during which you can see the possession of various types of weapons at a gallop. Skilled riders will throw spears, demonstrate saber and sword skills, and horseback archery.

An interesting performance will be the «archer at arms», during which a horse archer will shoot directly at the warrior. Visitors to Ancient Kiev will be invited to an open weapons master class, as well as games, competitions, round dances and master classes on medieval dance. It will be possible to hear the language of our ancestors during the presentation of the «Old Slavic phrasebook», which can be purchased at the souvenir shop. Comic Cossack amusements will unfold on the lists for the Feast of the Intercession. And the girls will also be able to join the ancient fortune-telling for the mummer-betrothed.

The best horse archers of Ukraine and the countries of Europe and Asia will gather in Ancient Kiev to compete in the fascinating art of archery on horseback. This sport is incredibly popular in more than 40 countries around the world on different continents. Horse archery is one of the most ancient martial arts, dating back to ancient times.

Since olden times, when hunting for an animal and in battle with enemies, our ancestors honed the fighting skills of horsemen and accurate shooters, over time, these skills formed the basis of equestrian martial arts. After all, both for a successful hunt and victory in battle, it was necessary to be able to deftly and evenly keep in the saddle at full gallop, quickly and accurately hit the target. The inhabitants of our country can consider themselves the descendants of the founders of the martial art of horse-meadow shooting of the Scythians, Sarmatians, Polovtsians, Pechenegs and Rusichs, who, undoubtedly, are our distant ancestors. And the Ukrainian Cossacks were rightfully considered the best horse archers.

The fact that athletes will compete on horses of rare ancient breeds collected from all over the world in the Princely Stables of Ancient Kiev adds to the entertainment of these competitions. Some breeds were developed thousands of years ago. Horses of some breeds in Ukraine are nowhere else to be seen, they were brought to our country in a single copy.

The uniqueness of the Championship is that the competition will be held in two formats: day and night - by torchlight, as in antiquity.
