family therapy works with the family. the goal is to recognize and solve problems that distance people from each other; rebuild communication and build healthy relationships. family therapy does not consist of individual therapy for each family member. it works with a special social system that functions according to its own rules.

consider contacting a family therapist if:

• it is difficult for you to negotiate and resolve conflicts within a couple (even if you are not officially married);
• a family member has an emotional or psychiatric disorder that affects relationships within the family;
• the child has problems with socialization, academic performance or health (especially with regard to psychogenic diseases);
• you cannot find a common language with a child or teenager;
• the composition of the family has changed: a new child has appeared or, on the contrary, the child has grown up and began an independent life - all family members need
• adapt to new conditions;
• you go through divorce and create new families;
• you are experiencing the death of a family member.

the list is not complete: everyone has features that can lead to conflicts and misunderstandings: the issue of everyday habits, religion, the subtleties of education. all these problems have in common is that they have arisen within the system - and they should not be solved in isolation either.

work steps and basic methods

inside the system, it is difficult to take a sober view of the conflict. this requires a third party, namely a psychotherapist.
family work is usually divided into 4 stages:

2. elimination of family conflict
3. reconstruction
4. support.
