Улица Крещатик

Love this street, many people strolling, many characters. Interesting shops, open squares, quality hotels, coffee shops and restaurants. Many sidewalk cafe settings to enjoy in warmer weather. Worth a visit

О Крещатике узнаёшь задолго до посещения Киева. Столкновение сформированного образа с реальностью не всегда в пользу последнего. На самом деле это обычная улица, наподобие, например, Тверской в Москве. Очень короткая- менее полутора километров. В архитектурном смысле - ничего особенного. Это связано с тем, что она была разрушена при эвакуации Красной Армии из Киева в 1941 г. и взятии его в 1943-м. Отсюда сходство в архитектуре из-за послевоенного восстановления. Название, несмотря на обманчивую фонетическую близость, не имеет отношения к крестам или христианству, а идёт от Крещатого Яра (т.е. перекрещенного оврагами-балками).

Красивое оживленное людное место много красивых зданий и людей. Давно мечтал побывать. Люблю города. Прошел по улице сколько мог насладился видами и надышался свободой. Спасибо

Having been living in Kiev for many years, this is the main street in the city. Allow at least an hour to stroll from one end to the other, taking in all the major branded shops plus look out for the hidden away surprises in the side streets. Highly recommended for an afternoon stroll.

Some shops, but just walk down it, ignore people and look at how magnificent it looks. Then do it again at night. And look UP! It's amazing.

Теперь на Крещатика можно встретить в основном туристов и попрошаек. Для меня эта улица не создаёт впечатление И ощущение истинного Киева, правда иногда хочется по ней пройтись. Очень советую нырять в улочки, которые отходят в разные стороны, там красиво, уютно, спокойной.

Ha már az Andrássy úthoz hasonlítottam, akkor nyugodt szívvel állíthatom, hogy attól azért elmarad, de impozáns és minden nap útba ejtendő utca. Alatta aluljáró-labirintus húzódik, ami néha már pláza benyomását kelti, nincs szó tehát lepukkant részről. A felszínen szép házak, árusok, kávéstandok és éttermek váltják egymást. Az út végén a Maidan téren találjuk magunkat, ami szintén egy időigényes program.

This is the backbone of commercial/ shopping life Kiev. Lots of shops, bars, restaurants. Many of them in a Oriental (meaning the Levantine Europe) style which looks a bit kitsch to the Westerner. Safe during the day, some people do not feel at ease at night.

È sicuramente l'arteria principale della città , piena di vita e di locali.. non si può andare a Kiev senza passeggiare per Khreshchatyk street

The Khreshchatyk is the heart of Kiev with the central post office, underground shopping mall and Independence Square. You can find most varieties of foods, street vendors to boutiques, and most any other thing you may wish to find/do here. A word of caution though. The ice cream vendor about midway offers two flavors, with a swirl of both as well. What looks like chocolate and vanilla is actually chocolate and lemon. Ask before you order to make sure you're getting what you expect... especially if you can't read Russian or Ukrainian.
