Where all roads meet (well almost). The central metro station and also where to change to the blue line, via Maidan metro station. There was a time when there were no signs in English. Fortunately, those days have gone and it’s a very good idea to know where you are going, well in advance, so as not to cause mayhem. Also, avoid peak hours because that’s like being swept away by a human tsunami .
Ignoring warning signs, mostly no entry signs, a large swathe of the population seems intent on causing as much chaos as possible. Old ladies carrying impossibly large bags of what appears to be beetroot, come lurching onto the train before everyone has got off, creating more bedlam as they rush to claim a seat. Adding to the fun are those who just block the doors, expecting alighting passengers to somehow pass through them like some kind of phantom.
Definitely a busy station and definitely a place to keep your belongings safe. It’s no worse than anywhere, really, but the usual precautions apply.
