Khreshchatyk is the main street running through the center of Kiev which has a lot of cultural and historical significance. The street is lined in both sides by shops and restaurants and offers an interesting and varied architecture. Underground walkways make crossing the street from one side to the other both safe and easy. Besarabka market is a must-see and a great place to buy fresh produce. Всi своï is a must-shop, showcasing the beat of local Ukrainian design, fashion and footwear. A fantastic place for a family walk and outing over the weekend.
My hotel, Crystal Hotel, was right off the street, and it's hopping from 6am to midnight. The four days I was there, there were a couple of road races, protests, and street vendors, performers and people everywhere. You can walk out your door and in minutes find something new to do.
Each time I visit Kiev,I spend quality time on khreshchatyk street, each time I experience the same joy and amusement!!!!the street is full of cafes, restaurants, various brand stores ,walking around will give you all the pleasure looking on the beautifully architected buildings ,,some are just master pieces. You can walk ,rest on a bench ,shop ,eat ,or what ever!!!!!The independence square is on one side of the street ,you'll find a lot of fountains and places to get beautiful photos ,,,,,Don't miss wondering around there,a visit is a must.

A nice wide street to just walk about and explore. Close to the other main attractions too. The street is very clean and there are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes for you to indulge. Prices are a bit higher than in other places in Kiev, but for someone from the U.K they are still very cheap.Be sure to visit when in Kiev.
