Kreshatik street has always been my favorite spot to shop, walk and eat. Do love the environment and the underground mall. I truly miss when the entire street was closed on the weekend so that people can enjoy their moments while walking along the street. The shows being held during the weekend was fun too. Definitely go back for a visit.
This is a wide street with some history of Ukraine, but has been transformed over the past 20 years. There are the high end shops now and an underground mall at Maidan Square that has a fast food court. Part of the street is closed on weekends for pedestrians and makes a nice Sunday stroll from one end of the street to the other. The high end shops are outside the price range of most locals so have to wonder how they stay in business. In any event this is the place to go on the weekends for seeing some people and enjoying some outdoor entertainment. Most of the destruction from the recent disturbances have been removed. Still some signs, but there is no problem in moving around the area now as was the case in recent months.
