I've spent hours here every day I am in Kiev. You can buy coffee and snacks up and down the street in little huts to keep you going while you figure out what you want next. Plenty of ATMs to get money from so you can buy more souvenirs. Buy stuff up at street level or down in the Metro stations. Restaurants everywhere. The people watching is a great mix...swarms of business people during rush hour, fairly chill with tourists during the off hours, tons of college students at night. Of course you need to go to Maidan.
Khreshchatyk Street is the heart of Kiev. It is a long and wide street that connects some other important parts of the city. You can walk along the street from the Independence Square up to Arena city. You can find many different restaurants and cafes on the street. You can walk to historical parts of the city, on the other side you can visit some other nice parts of the city. You will find different brands for shopping. At weekends the street will close to traffic so that you will have more enjoy. Also you will have chance to see different types of buildings from ex-communist Russian to modern ones.Visited April 2015
